Data Stewardship Council

The Data Stewardship Council provides oversight for IT activities on campus to ensure they are aligned with objectives stated in Educating Illinois, the University’s Strategic Plan. The council manages and balances the demand for Enterprise IT needs for the University through:

  • Identifying priorities
  • Overseeing data access
  • Establishing performance metrics
  • Evaluating and monitoring progress on IT activities

The group uses data-supported measurements — such as strategic fit, return on value (ROV), total cost of ownership (TCO) and strategic directions — in prioritizing and finding resources for the many conflicting requests for IT services.  Members of the group make decisions based on the needs of the institution and not on individual organization desires or affiliation.

IT Always Connected.
