IT Strategic Plan 3

Cover Letter

Dear ISU Community –

As you will gather by reading the updated IT Strategic Plan 2011-2013, great work has been done by many members of the Illinois State community to make sure the Goals and Action Items described within are aligned with the premise of Educating Illinois and are inclusive of the many different segments of IT consumers on campus. We are both very pleased with the end result, and we are certain you will be as well.

With the new partnership that is forged between our two offices comes a renewed commitment to focus on the IT needs and expectations of the University community. In particular, we pledge to work collaboratively to help provide campus-wide solutions to common IT problems. This stronger alliance allows us to take the concept of collaboration, accountability, and transparency to a new level and shift the focus from organizational structure (who reports to whom) to service delivery (who produces what) yielding a higher level of IT support at an overall lower cost for the University as a whole.

The Strategic Goals in this Plan are based on major objectives that require solutions that transcend the traditional vertical administrative structures found in colleges and universities. We are committed to leading the Action Items in this Plan to fruition and to making the progress visible to all. These action steps are necessary to prepare both the IT community and technical environment to position ISU to lead us into the future.

We would again like to thank each and every one of you who have provided input and feedback into this Plan. Together we will indeed provide a seamless IT experience to the ISU community and keep us “Always Connected”.
